August 15th Fishing Report

Hoot owl has been lifted from Veteran's bridge and up. The Bitterroot is seeing cooler temps this week and the flows are looking better for the upper river. The lower river is still sluggish however there are still some pockets to be found and fished. Spinners, hoppers, and water walkers have been fishing well on top. We suggest dropping a Perdigon or flashback pheasant tail off the back for increased chances of a bite. Use a lighter line such as 5x OR 6x when throwing the smaller flies such as spinners or Tricos for a more subtle approach.

The lower river is currently 236 CFS, the upper river is 400 CFS, and the West Fork is 265 CFS. The upper river can still be tight in spots for floating so remain diligent in scouting your routes and stay safe!
