August 22nd Fishing Report

The dry fly bite has been good on the Bitterroot River. We're seeing a healthy response to hopper patterns, Tricos, and terrestrials. When dry fly fishing don't be afraid to twitch your bug to create a more realistic movement to grab the fish's attention. Nymphing has been getting fish in the net as well, consider using a Perdigon, Frenchie, or Duracell. The water is still thin here, but the flows get better the higher up on the river you go, and the river becomes better fitted for floating.

Our current flows are 218 CFS for lower river, 389 CFS for the upper river, and 294 CFS on the West Fork.
