The temps are rising, and the water is dropping here in the Bitterroot. Your timing will be crucial in catching fish, early mornings and late evenings are your best bet. We aren't on hoot owl yet, but it could be just around the corner. The bugs are moving pretty well in the morning providing good opportunity for dry fly fishing. PMD's and caddis are the most prominent, followed by golden stones. When you aren't seeing many risers, we suggest going to a dry dropper to increase your chances, a flashback pheasant tail, perdigon, or frenchie would be a great option here.
The current flows are 625 CFS for the lower river, 547 CFS for upper river, and 150 CFS on the West Fork.
