The Bitterroot is fishing typical for mid-summer right now and we are still under hoot owl restrictions from 2 p.m.-midnight. We are starting to see some action with hoppers, ants, and beetles, and in the early mornings PMD's and spinners are productive. Consider throwing a dry dropper with a Perdigon or Spanish bullet in some of those deeper holes to catch the fish staying low.
The river is low right now so be prepared to drag your raft in certain sections, also keep in mind the Bitterroot had a large storm last night so there could be new obstructions. The lower river is currently 214 CFS, upper river is 360 CFS, and the West Fork is 200 CFS.
