June 13th Fishing Report

The river is starting to clear up here in the Bitterroot and with the salmon flies hatching, fish are starting to look up for their meals. A dry dropper is a great option to cover all your bases out there. We have some great options in the shop for salmon flies that you can pair with nymphs such as a San Juan worm, TJ Hooker, Jig Prince, or a rubber legs. Streamer fishing is a viable option as well and can help you target those bigger fish, we recommend stripping in a Dungeon, wooly bugger, or a sparkle minnow. The weather is going to turn a bit cold over the next few days with the chance of a light rain, this could affect the flows a bit.

The lower river is currently 4790 CFS, upper river is 2340 CFS, and the West Fork is 706 CFS. The flows are steadily coming down, so we are getting closer to consistent days of excellent fishing the Bitterroot is known for.
