We are still seeing runoff conditions here in the Bitterroot however we are in the home stretch for a clearer river with great fishing conditions. There was a pretty big bump in flows the last couple days, but we are predicted to start dropping and evening out over the next week. With the muddier water we suggest fishing big nymphs in a darker color to help contrast so you have a better chance of fish honing in on your bug, a rubber legs or TJ Hooker are a great option. The salmon Flies are starting to make an appearance so consider going with a dry dropper to give yourself a chance of getting that dry eat.
There is an obstruction from Hannon to Darby to keep an eye out for, and as always, this river is constantly changing, especially with runoff so stay diligent in checking routes prior to floating. The current flows are 6,900 CFS at lower river, 3,340 for upper river, and 1,020 at the West Fork.
