From the flows to the bugs Fall fishing is on in the Bitterroot. We are seeing Mahagony's and BWO'S consistently as well as October caddis in the afternoons. Light tippet and a drag free drift are a must for these picky fish, we recommend throwing a cripple or dun. For the October caddis, use an orange stimulator and don't be afraid to twitch it. Streamer fishing is always a great option come this time of the year, consider throwing a Lil' Kim, wooly bugger, or sparkle minnow.
Our current flows are 330 CFS for the lower river, 168 CFS at upper river, and 55 CFS at the West Fork.
